New patient data information, or patient demographic changes are entered in the Medisoft User Interface by the front desk staff. 2. This information is automatically imported into the Electronic Medical Records database. The Data Import Utility is usually set to update every 2 minutes. 3. The medical provider accesses the current patient information in the exam room and enters the patient notes using pre defined templates. The ICD - 9 and associated CPT code(s) are chosen. With a click of a button the billing data is then set up in a batch file, which is set up to be imported back into the Medisoft billing software database. 4. Finally, the billing staff verify the billing data which is then imported in the Medisoft database. This is a closed loop system, which maximizes staff efficiency, reduces recurring chart maintenance and transaction billing entry and it minimizes potential billing errors.
